Dr. Heath Chung was born and raised in Captain Cook, Kona located on the Big Island of Hawai’i. He attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island; received his medical degree from the University of Hawai’i John A. Burns School of Medicine; completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Hawai’i; and completed his post-doctoral fellowship in the specialty of Infectious Diseases at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Chung now works as a Board-Certified Infectious Disease Specialist in Honolulu, Hawai’i. Dr. Chung, along with his partners at the ‘Oahu Medical Group, LLC look to serve their community around the State. Dr. Chung is a husband and a father to three children. During his free time he enjoys spending time with his family and loves to go shoreline fishing.

Dr. Chung is currently a senior provider and one of the founding members of the O’ahu Medical Group who is affiliated with multiple hospitals on the island of Oahu; including the Queen’s Medical Center and Kuakini Medical Center. He is currently serving as the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Queen’s Medical Center. Dr. Chung also practices infectious diseases in the outpatient setting at Oahu Medical Group and the Queen Emma Clinics. He is Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Hawai’i, John A. Burns School of Medicine where he facilitates resident training in Infectious Diseases. Dr. Chung’s interests within his specialty include: HIV medicine, pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV, diabetic-associated infections, transplant-associated infections and skin and soft-tissue infections.
